Why we all want to achieve financial freedom?

Financial Freedom. What is this all about?

Being financially free is being able to live and afford the lifestyle you want for you and your family without the need to depend on your monthly paycheck. Growing up, we get used to our parents telling us to study hard so we can get a diploma from a college or university then be able to get a stable job. But is getting a “stable job with good pay” the goal of our lives?

This used to be my life a few years ago. Graduate from a university? Check! Pass the board exams? Check! Get a job from an auditing firm? Check! Get a job with higher pay from one of the biggest corporations in the country? Check! Check! Check!

Then one day, while working as a Finance Analyst in my company, I found myself drowning; not because I have a shitty job nor underpaid nor have no friends at work. NO. There were days that I found myself staring and thinking of the possibilities I could do and achieve if instead of sitting at my chair desk, I’m outside the four-cornered office doing the things I love. I found myself “just” surviving the day.

I asked myself, “Is this the lifestyle I want to live?”

I respect and honor all those who are thriving in the corporate setup. It’s just that we all have different journeys and directions. So… how can we all achieve the financial freedom we all want, whether you’re an employee, self-employed professional, or an entrepreneur?

It all boils down to DECISIONS. When you’re able to embrace the choices you make now, I guess that’s where freedom starts. Financial freedom is more than just money talks or whatnot. It is about living life on your OWN TERMS. Not being dictated by anyone, your parents, siblings, husband, wife, children, relatives, your bank accounts, your savings, your debts. NO ONE.

To be financially free means chasing whatever brings you true joy and to feel that you are fully alive. Being financially free gives you OPTIONS and CHOICES in life that no one can give you but yourself. And to start becoming financially free, you have to start changing your mindset, removing your self-limiting beliefs, and to stop making excuses.

Financial freedom starts with financial education. The question is, will you be willing to learn?

When was the last time you felt fully alive?
