I have a confession to make.

I almost quit being a Financial Advisor.

I’ve been in this industry since January 2018. I started as a part timer and eventually embrace being a full time Advisor. I was introduced to a lot of opportunities and level up my skills both in personal and business aspect. I’ve met amazing mentors, colleagues, prospects, and clients.

Come 2020, start of the pandemic, I loved my journey as a Financial Advisor and became visible online. I’ve been hustling left and right as a Financial Advisor in the online space. My team and I adapted quickly. I opened an online Cash Flow management session where I had over 500 participants. There was a time I was accommodating 6 sessions per day, working until I lost my voice.

On 2021 to 2022, I was working from 9am ‘till 11pm (sometimes 12mn). My cash flow management sessions were still on going, I went to different companies in different cities and provinces to spread financial literacy. I was assisting my clients’ concerns both in insurance and wealth management. I was a speaker to different company and online community events. I was being awarded month on month as top Advisor in my then company.  On top of all these, I was oftentimes managing my wedding planning business. I was over the moon chasing success EACH DAY.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining. In fact, I loved it. I called it “happy pagod.”

Until one day, I made a decision that changed the course of my life.

It has been one year since I made one BIG decision.

As a planner, I planned my life revolving in that BIG decision and THOUGHT everything will go on smoothly as planned. I was wrong. It led to a series of disappointments to people I look up to that I just decided I will quit hustling as a Financial Advisor.

Yes there is fulfillment (when you create an impact to the lives of Filipino families), excitement (when you get to meet a lot of new people and experience things outside your comfort zone), and glam (because of the recognition, travel incentives and bonuses) in the life of a Financial Advisor.

But the unseen parts of that life is the “hustle” culture, monthly anxiety if you’ll achieve your personal targets, having a strong will to accept rejections and continue reaching out to people despite these, unseen and seen messages, and for some, unhealthy pressures from their managers.

I got disappointed. I felt disheartened to start again.

But when I was about to quit. I was reminded of the people who said:

“Thank you sa help moooo!!! Salamat sa pagpapa-realize samin ng mga bagay-bagay na related sa financing stuff kaya we’re happy to be achieving this milestone with you as our FA”

“Thank you sa session mo dami ko narealize about how I handle my money.”

“Thank you for helping me pull out my life to that situation. One less thing to be depressed.”

“Proud ako na ikaw FA namin.”

“FA ko yan!”

“You’re so calm and collected.”

“Daisy natutuwa ako sayo, super tahimik lang dati, ngayon you have a voice in helping others. Galing ni Lord, nagbloom ka in a beautiful way.”

“Daisy, may cash flow management din pala sa iba, pero the best yung pagka organized nung sayo.”

“You’ve grown to a woman of character and passion. So proud.”

People believed in me. And when people believe and support you, even just one person, you get to have that push to continue even if you're tired and just want to give up.

So before I quit, I’ll try again.

Not as a Financial Advisor that is affiliated solely to a company, but as a Financial Coach who’s willing to help my clients bloom holistically. As I go through the next chapter of my life, I aspire to help more professionals, business owners, and starting families like me create a meaningful and blooming life thru effective money management, personal alignment and financial restructuring.

I support you. I believe in you! Okay? Let’s journey together, again?

Your Financial Coach,

Daisy
